Having a southern California wedding reception is the dream of many brides. And finding the right wedding reception location in southern California does not have to be as hard as it may seem. The choice of the location and the caterer are sometimes the most important decisions of the reception. The easiest way to make sure that you get the best of both in southern California is to hire a wedding planner. Most have had years of experience in this particular area and there aren’t many location ideas that they have no thought of or been exposed to. Some locations might look great but they are hard to work with. An experienced planner will know the ins and outs of most wedding reception locations in Southern California.

You Get What you Pay For
If a wedding planner is not in your budget there are some basic tips that you should be aware of. Never pick your location or caterer just by calling numbers that you found in the phone book or some other dubious advertising. You need to see the location with your own eyes. Picking a location by price alone is a quick road to disappointment. Remember, you get what you pay for. Check out the places within your budget though, there are exceptions to every rule. Try picking a spot that is not a traditional wedding reception site. Southern California has a variety of meeting places and reception halls that can be easily (and cheaply) transformed to fit your needs.



When visiting a potential site be sure that you speak with the proprietor. Some places may require you to rent, tables, chairs, dance floor, kitchen, etc. in addition to the rental price of the facility. If you have carefully apportioned your budget, this would be a nasty last minute surprise. This may seem like a trivial point but also make sure that there is ample parking at the location that you have chosen. Parking can come at a premium in many areas of Southern California and this last minute hassle can easily turn into a catastrophe.
